A great way to tell if a jacket is approved is to look for the label. The purpose of this type of device is to keep the child and their face above water.
Make sure again that the device fits the child properly. Vest designed for kids are classified by weight. Classification classes are as follows:
- 30 pounds or less
- 30 to 50 pounds
- 50 to 90 pounds
